At Newlite, we are often called on to help with bringing a new lease of life to older properties.
It is not just new windows and doors that can make home look and feel like new. You can also do work to the external fabric of a home.
Many houses feature render. Whilst external render has it’s advantages it can also have issues longer term.
Often water will drip down the render leaving dark or yellow water stains and make it look unsightly. There can also be issues with render falling off or cracking and some consider it more high maintenance and harder to keep looking new.
The benefits of PVCu cladding.
If you are looking to add a low maintenance solution to the exterior of your home PVCu cladding can help. Of course you will know that PVCu is used to make windows, doors and conservatories, but it is also widely used in construction.
As an external material it offers the same hard wearing properties and long service life. It can help properties with either render, brick or wood cladding. It won’t rot or corrode despite being constantly exposed to the weather.
Additionally, external cladding can protect your home and roof from weather damage avoiding the need for repairs or other routine maintenance.
External walls instantly come to life and look line new. Walls are protected and kept watertight as moisture or driving rain is kept away from the building.
Other advantages of PVCu cladding.
When used to cover existing walls or timber cladding, the latest in PVCu can also provide other benefits:
It’s available in a choice of styles. Aside from flush flat options you can choose shiplap, herringbone, V groove and much more.
The general insulation can be improved with external cladding as well. It’s recommended that any existing wood is removed rather than covered over as it will only continue to deteriorate under the new cladding.
But overall you will see a huge improvement to your home, it’s appearance and comfort.
Crowborough Home renovated with new PVCu windows and cladding.
Newlite were contact by the owner of this detached property in Crowborough, it was looking a little dated with the original render that was stained, unattractive and needed improvement. One of the reasons for this was that the property was very exposed to the weather. Therefore we helped our client with the option of either repairing the existing render or offering a much lower maintenance solution.
Our works consisted of fitting new PVCu windows and doors from our latest generation A Rated PVCu windows. These were fitted with high security locking and glazed with with energy efficient double glazed units comprising soft coat low-e coating, argon gas fill and warm edge spacer bars.
To the exterior of the property was also fitted new PVCu cladding to the entire front elevation having first ensured that the building was sealed, prepared and ready to receive the new cladding. For this to be achieved it was necessary to prepare the property by fitting suitable membrane for protection. The exterior was then battened and cladded with Swish weather boarding. All this work ensures that the property receives the right level of weather protection as well as helping with insulation.
Our customer is delighted with the end result that has brought an older property to life with a crisp, fresh and clean white appearance.
