Fitted to a side extension beside the main house, we’ve installed a single aluminium door with feature gable window above and flag window to the side.
Powder coated in a dark grey finish, it’s a great match for the existing PVCu window on the main house.
On this project, we’ve used profiles from the Visofold bifolding door product as a hinged single door. Where a lot of home improvement firms use regular residential doors we often use bifolding door profiles. These provide an aesthetically different single or double door for the home.
The profiles are slimmer, the hinges more discreet and the look generally better overall. There’s no loss of performance or functionality and the doors work reliably long into the future. In fact, as bifolding doors are highly engineered products designed for large openings and a more complex slide and fold action, the product could be deemed as heavier duty too. At the same time the sightlines are substantially better. Slimmer profiles, larger glass sizes, more light and better views.
The door comes as standard with a lever/lever lock and high security cylinder. It operates a five-point lock. The entire installation sits on a colour-matched door and window cill.
Working in harmony with the insulated frames, we’ve provided toughened safety glass,. The glass units come with a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill to the door and window set.
Slimline aluminium windows
Professionally joined to the side and top of the doors using hidden couplers are our slimline aluminium windows. These come colour matched to the door frames, and feature fixed lights above and an opening window to the side.
The opening casement window has a multi-point espagnolette lock for security. There’s also a locking handle, internal glazing beads and high security window hinges.
