Fitted to a contemporary storey cedar-clad extension added to a Victorian home, the contrast between the original period architecture and cream house colour, with the black curved and cedar-clad new structure is striking. There are soft curves on the sides of the extension and a bold color scheme throughout.

Our customers wanted to ensure the glazing chosen for this dramatic extension achieved the right visual result, whilst bringing more light into their space, and preserving the visual appeal of a home that blends old and new.

The main elevation feature window on the upper floor consists of six modules and provides a sweeping view of the garden. Two sections open sideways and two open from the top. All these modules have slender 25mm glazing bars, finished in RAL 9005 (black matt). This color pairs well with the cedar cladding and Victorian brickwork.

On the ground floor, we created a matching six-module screen. This time, a single door sits in the middle, forming part of a full-height assembly that spans the entire width of the elevation. This design invites light into the downstairs space and delivers a pleasant connection to the outdoors. Side-hung and top-hung windows form part of this composition, ensuring fresh air flows into the home whenever needed.
