Internal bifold doors separate a conservatory

Using our slimline bifolding door system, an installation of internal bifold doors, dividing a living room from the sunroom conservatory.

Using internal bifold doors to separate a conservatory is one of the most effective ways of insulating your room from the conservatory on colder days without losing light and a feeling of space thanks to the large glass panels. And when you do want to sit in the conservatory in the spring or summer, the neat stacking arrangement available with our entire range of aluminium bifolds, opens up the two spaces and connects them together.

Any one of our internal bifold doors works well as a room divider and to separate your kitchen or lounge from your conservatory. But if you go with our slimmest version, you get slimmer aluminium profiles, more light and bigger panes of glass.

This installation uses the super slim Visofold bifold door model, expertly made by one of the UK’s best manufacturers and professionally installed by us.

The Visofold 6000 folding sliding door boasts some of the slimmest sightlines on the market and especially at the middle mullions where the dimension is just 94mm. When you want more classic proportions, we’ve an alternative range of bifolds with slightly thicker sightlines and also capable of larger panel sizes.

This particular set of internal bifold doors comes in a three panel design, opening into the conservatory and neatly folding on one side. The left-hand leaf acts as a master door, hinged on the middle panel and opening just like a regular door.

Also called a traffic door, this configuration with an independent leaf is super-functional. With the doors closed, the property owners have access to the conservatory without having to fold the panels back every time.

These bifolds come in the classic white gloss finish, RAL 9910 matching the PVCu profiles of the conservatory. As standard, our doors come with toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill. So whilst these may be internal bifold doors, they have the same insulated aluminium profiles and glass as their exterior-grade counterparts.

For the locking system, there’s a matching white lever handle on both sides, operating a five-point security lock with an additional high-security key cylinder. The doors are also glazed from the inside, further adding to their excellent security. At the top of the doors, you’ll find a discreet magnet designed to hold the stacked panels together neatly.

Another excellent feature of this particular installation of internal bifold doors is the low threshold design. Visofold bifold doors come with a choice of threshold options to suit the installation. Here the doors come with the standard low threshold. It’s easy to install and without the weathering considerations of exterior folding sliding doors.

The low threshold design allows smooth access to the conservatory with a minimal step and a cleaner looking floor where one room meets the other.
