Black Crittall style doors in Kent, supplied to a Faversham property to an existing opening and with feature arch. Another of our steel-look patio doors, using our latest generation aluminium with similar details to original steel doors.
Slimline Crittall style doors in Kent designed as French Doors with sidelights
Expertly crafted and professionally installed, our steel-styled patio doors come in the desirable black matt finish as a double door set and with smaller side panels.
First of all is the overall construction of the door set, using the latest generation thermally insulated aluminium profiles throughout. These are then professionally powder coated in a durable and low-maintenance black matt finish. The black colour is ideal for doors in this style, replicating the shade of original steel windows in this Art-Deco, Industrial, or Heritage design.
Therefore, whilst these are very much period-style doors, the technology and performance are up to the minute.
The doors open out with the primary leaf on the right-hand side viewed from the outside. This also features a black lever handles set with a high security key cylinder. These operate a multi-point locking system with four locking locations giving these Crittall style doors in Kent the latest security features. As well as this, the glass is secured from inside the doors meaning it can’t be removed from outside. The door leaves feature a double set of hinges at the top. Further down the door sashes are a further two hinges. These work to keep the doors always aligned as well as creating an effective seal.
Then it’s the overall styling. The surrounding frame and door sash profiles are super-slim and combine with hand-applied glazing bars giving the sought-after grid effect, typical of old metal doors. Even better, all the horizontal sightlines are consistent and a near match to the perimeter framing.
For the glass, we’ve used toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill.
At the head of the doors is a small feature arch. It’s not possible to curve aluminium opening doors as you can steel or timber, therefore the solution is a small glazed insulated panel closing off the arch. At the same time, it comes in an identical colour finish to the doors.
Of course, the overall design to these Crittall style doors in Kent replicates well original steel doors. The door sash profiles come with a neat step just like steel. The master door leaf has the thicker lock plate desing too.
Overall these doors provide a credible product similar to steel, but do bear in mind features are never identical as only Crittall® made the genuine steel doors and only this brand gives you the 100% genuine product and all the associated benefits. Instead in aluminium, you get a similar look at a more affordable price.
Finishing off the installation is a matching black cill. It sits over the brickwork and ensures any rainwater coming down the weathertight doors, drains away from the door set effectively.
