Black bay windows in the steel-style
At the front of this suburban home are steel look aluminium windows in a bay design. Typically these windows come in at around 1.8m high and therefore need fanlights above the main opening windows.
To the front lounge and upstairs bedroom, you’ll find two bay windows but each designed in a slightly different configuration. First of all, is the lounge window downstairs having two large side hung casements on the front with opening fanlights above. Between these are fixed windows modules and opening windows to the return sides.
Upstairs the smaller front bedroom windows have a slightly different design with front opening casements only and fixed panels to the side bay return.
Notice with all the windows the consistent sightlines of the slim glazing bars giving the gorgeous grid pattern and appearance of slim period metal windows.
Even better at the front of this property is a matching steel-look porch door using matching window materials, complementing the similarly styled door.
Steel look aluminium windows to the rear of a property
Featured in a property renovation publication is another collection of our steel look aluminium windows working well with the existing white render at the back of the house.
This installation, again with matching steel-look doors, has windows of various sizes and configurations. The kitchen window is two side hung opening lights with a central fixed pane, the larger back bedroom in a 12 module design with smaller fanlights at the top and larger side opening windows beneath. The smaller bedroom window has a side opening window with a smaller fanlight above and a larger fixed side panel.
Again, all these windows feature slimline window frames with thinner horizontal glazing bars with the same neat bars, used in the doors.
Black steel-look windows with matching doors
Another installation of one of the most popular styles for our steel-look doors is designed as classic French doors with fixed panels above.
These doors show how neatly all the profiles work together with the slightly thicker glazing bars. To the left-hand leaf, you can see the handle fitted within the thicker plate design behind.
The secondary leaf comes with discreet flush bolts are hidden in the side frame profile, accessible with the lead door open.
Glazed with safety glass units, also being every energy efficient. They comprise a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill.
And beside the doors in the same black matt finish are two new casement windows, one fitted to the existing opening, another to the newer side extension.
Contemporary styled windows
This 2022 installation shows the back of a typical semi-detached house, extensively renovated and showcasing both steel look aluminium windows as well as matching patio doors.
The design of these windows is more simplistic with just two horizontal bars creating a three-panel module. The left-hand back bedroom window has two side hung opening windows with fire-escape hinges. In the middle is a smaller opening outwards fanlight. The right-hand window has the same side hung window with a larger fanlight on the left. Both windows sit on a matching cill.
These windows perfectly match the two different ways of creating steel-look doors for homes or even garden buildings.
